Thousands.
That’s how many customers use our platform across GB and the EU.
Our team of developers and customs specialists have carefully designed our platform to help streamline your customs procedures, and we are constantly working to improve the platform further.
To help you get started, these are the mistakes we sometimes see customers making on our platform:
-
Incorrect spelling of company names, addresses and postcodes
If this information is incorrect, your goods will not be cleared and you won’t be able to get through the port.
-
Inputting the incorrect document names
Mislabelling the names of your documents can cause further errors on your declaration and can prevent your goods from clearing.
For example, entering “commercial invoice” and labelling it “Document 1” when the document you are submitting is a proforma invoice which should have a full number.
-
Incorrect commodity codes and descriptions
For your goods to clear, choosing the correct commodity code for your goods is essential in order to accurately classify your goods. Providing a full description to identify your goods properly is also vital.
-
Incorrect vehicle/container numbers
Another mistake we will sometimes see on a customer’s import or export declaration is where traders input the wrong number for their vehicle or containers. Just like with mistakes 1-3, this can prevent your goods from clearing.
And, finally…
-
Incorrect date of sailing
While most of these errors are small and easily done, any one of them could have a huge impact on your business. If this information is incorrect, your goods will not be cleared and you won’t be able to get through the port. Double-checking all of the information you have submitted in your customs declaration is essential.
It’s important to us that you feel supported when you clear your goods with us.
