If you conduct RoRo trade between Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, you may have been benefitting from an initiative that has allowed you to use a temporary ENS/SSD (Entry Summary Declaration/Safety and Security Declaration) provided by Irish Revenue. This will soon change.
23rd June 2021
From 5pm on the 23rd June you will no longer be able to use the temporary administrative easement service for your Safety and security declarations on your RoRo goods movements between Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. This means that if you’ve been relying on the service to organise your ENS for you, you will now need to start completing these declarations yourself.
ENS/SSD
Your ENS/SSD is a vital aspect of your customs documentation, the responsibility for completing this declaration ordinarily lies with the haulier, although, in some cases, the ferry operator will organise it on your behalf.
When shipping to Ireland, your haulier will need to submit their declarations to the EU/NI ICS which can be extremely complex and is difficult to set up.
If your ENS/SSD isn’t completed correctly then you can face fines and your goods can be held at port, causing delays in your supply chain and ultimately preventing your customers from getting their goods on time which doesn’t reflect well on your business.
We Can Help
Rather than attempting to submit your own ENS/SSDs and risking getting things wrong, our ENS/SSD builder is available to help ensure that everything is running smoothly. Even if you don’t use us for customs clearance, we can still help you submit your ENS/SSD.
Unlike other customs brokers, we are directly connected to the Import Control System (ICS)- the system you need to submit your declarations into.
We know that these processes are new and daunting, luckily we have an expert team on hand that are readily available to help you!
We also offer a complete customs end-to-end solution for all of your GB ⇄ ROI trade, which includes your ENS/SSDs and Port Passes!
