How would you describe your role?
“As a Customs Clearance Agent, I help businesses navigate the “ins and outs” of export and import paperwork for sea freight. Whether it’s moving goods from GB to the EU or the other way around, I make sure everything is in order so shipments can sail smoothly."
What made you want to join CustomsLink?
“I was excited to join CustomsLink because of its innovative approach to simplifying customs processes. The role sounded exciting as it provided me with the opportunity to learn new things in customs and logistics, which is an area I‘ve always been interested in.”
Could you tell us a little bit about your work experience before joining the business?
“Before joining CustomsLink, I wrapped up my MBA and did a few admin jobs to keep things interesting. Before that, I was diving into Civil Engineering back in India and also worked as an Engineer in Training. So, I’ve had a bit of a mix of both technical and administrative roles, which now helps me navigate the customs world.”
How long have you been at the company?
“I have been here for a fantastic two years.”
What have you learned during your time here?
“Since joining CustomsLink, I’ve really improved my communication skills - especially in speaking with customers, which I wasn’t too comfortable with before. The job has also given me the chance to learn more about customs processes and take various courses in customs, making me much more confident in my role.”
What is your favourite part of working at CustomsLink?
“My favourite part about being part of the CustomsLink team is the supportive and collaborative environment. I’ve had the chance to grow both professionally and personally and I love how everyone’s always willing to lend a hand or share their knowledge.”
Can you tell us a fun fact about you?
“I have a background in civil engineering but ended up navigating customs clearance instead! It’s quite a switch, but I love how both fields involve problem solving- just with very different types of challenges.”
